At the V-neckline of this floor-length dress, a woven collar of hand-loomed brocade from the Thái ethnic community of northern Vietnam frames the fitted bodice. Cut from Dui in a flowing silhouette with an empire waist, short sleeves, and a soft skirt that falls to the floor. Woven in the highlands, joined and finished by hand at the Hanoi atelier.
Care
We recommend a gentle hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Reshape while damp and allow to air dry naturally.

The story
PRINCESS NECKLACE
There are pieces of jewelry that aren't made of metal or stone. This one is made of thread. The collar at the neckline of this dress is hand-woven brocade, made on wooden looms in the mountain villages of Điện Biên, Sơn La, and Yên Bái by the women of the Thái community. The patterns are worked from memory, passed from mother to daughter across generations, and no two panels ever come out exactly the same. For the women who weave it, brocade is a language. It carries beauty, status, and the mark of the maker who made it. When it moves down from the highlands to the Hanoi atelier and is cut and joined at the neckline of a dress, it carries all of that with it. The dress the wearer puts on has already lived a long life. Designer Diego Cortizas.
